Born in Edmonton, Alberta, on May 17, 1944, Dot moved to Prince George as a young girl with her mother, Clara. It was there that a friend introduced her to Bernie Pratt. The two were married on October 8, 1966, beginning a beautiful journey defined by fun, deep friendships and the love of a growing family. After 49 years of marriage, Bernie predeceased her on February 27, 2016.
Dot worked at many Prince George businesses over the years, including the Prince George Citizen and a local law firm. She spent the final part of her working career in payroll at Prince George Regional Hospital, now known as UHNBC, where she made many lasting friendships.
Dot was a proud and devoted mother to Sandy (Anthony) Winger, Russ (Nicki) Pratt and Laurie (Blake) McIntosh. She was a loving grandmother to Danica (Amran), Brady, Jake (Hanna) and Konnor; step-grandmother to Mackenzie (Jordan) and Haley (Kelly); step-great-grandmother to Lydia and Marceline. She is also survived by numerous beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends and her dog, Kami.
She was preceded by her beloved husband Bernie Pratt; her mother Clara Folden; her stepfather Tubby Folden; her father Andrew McCorrister.
Dot was a familiar face at the bowling alley and the curling rink. She loved a good hand of cards and the excitement of the casino. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her sweetheart, Bernie.
Mom, we will miss you so much.
The family extends their gratitude to Dr. Israt and the Prince George Hospice Society for their compassionate care and support.
