Elizabeth Ethina Cicelia (Fry) Jay

It is with a heavy and devastated heart that we announce the passing of our amazing and wonderful mother Elizabeth (Betty). Mom is survived by her loving daughters Shirley and Rose (Frank) Seemann, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her treasured son Kevin.

Mom came to Canada from Sligo, Ireland via England with her husband Victor, who passed in 2013, and they landed in Prince George in 1956, making this city their home.

Mom was witty, humorous, a progressive thinker, stoic and resilient. Mom held many occupations throughout her life, making many friends along the way.

She enjoyed travelling, hiking, thrifting, and watching the Knowledge Network along with all the British programming. She loved and adored her grandchildren and was proud of all their successes. She was equally proud of all her children.

Mom enjoyed life. Her many close friendships were very special to her and provided her with lots of laughter and love. She will be terribly missed by her family and friends. Special thanks to Bronwyn, Anton, Bridhie and the "Dutchman" and the staff at the Prince George Cancer Centre, Lexie, Joanne, and Cheyna at the PCMU Unit, all the staff at UHNBC who cared for her and the wonderful Dr. Hillhouse, Susan, Candace, and all the incredible staff at the Prince George Hospice House.

A memorial dinner will be announced at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prince George Cancer Centre or the Prince George Hospice House.
