Frances impacted many lives as a teacher, co-worker and guide leader. She was a strong advocate for women’s rights--at a time when that was not a popular position and continued to support marginalized groups her entire life.
Teaching was a calling for Frances. She was particularly proud of the Textiles, Arts and Crafts class she devised and was so proud of the resulting students’ work. She was also a student for much of her teaching career--attending summer school for a total of 11 years to earn her bachelor’s degree. Her own creative practice was deeply varied and she was always coming up with new project ideas either to explore new skills herself or to create with her children and grandchildren.
We invite you to help us honour and remember Frances. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, August 23 at the Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 pm, followed by a reception at 2 pm at the House of Ancestors - 355 Vancouver Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Prince George Native Friendship Centre or the Two Rivers Gallery in Prince George.
