Sandy was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he met his wife of almost 60 years, Kathy. They began their life together in Prince George and, over the years, made their home in Nelson, Cranbrook, Kamloops, and eventually returned to Prince George.
Sandy worked for 47 years with Auto Marine Electric later known as NAPA. Retirement didn’t slow him down — he spent many meaningful years volunteering with the Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association. At KTRA, he found a second home, where the animals he cherished and the compassionate people around him made every moment special.
Above all else, Sandy loved his family. He will be forever missed by his wife Kathy; his daughter Debbie (Lee); his son Chris (Danielle); his sister Carol and his brother Mark. He was predeceased by his brother Peter. His greatest joy was his grandchildren Cassidy, Reece, Brookelyn, Carter and Colby — who meant more to him than anything in this world.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Prince George Rotary Hospice House for the kindness, compassion and dignity shown to Sandy and his family during his final days.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, quiet strength and humour that will live on in all who knew him.
