Furtado — Joao Garcia, 86, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the University of Northern British Columbia Hospital surrounded by his loving family.He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Serafina (Raposo) Furtado, his 7 children; Joao Luis (Natalia), Maria (David), Mary (Antonio), Gabriel (Dale), Olga, Grace, Albert (Kathy), 12 grandchildren; Cindy, Garry, Darcy, Brian, Nancy, Christopher, Jennifer, Jamie, Ryan, Michelle, Michael, Joseph and 4 great grandchildren; Nico, Jacob, Isaiah, Jacob
Prayers to be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, March 14, 2011, at the St Mary’s Parish, 1088 Gillett Street. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, March 15, 2011, also at St. Mary’s. Burial to follow at the Prince George Memorial Park Cemetery.
