It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen “Kay” Fisher announces her peaceful passing after a courageous journey with cancer, surrounded by her family. The family is deeply grateful to the extended family and close friends who offered constant support, especially Glen, Zoey, Angie, Mike, Murray and Nina.
Kay was a spirited, compassionate woman who took genuine interest in others. Her greatest joy was her family; her son Ron (Julie); daughter Lori; grandchildren Tori (Sheldon) and Lauren (Nik); great-grandchildren Lenni and Miller--whom she spoke of with pride whenever she could.
Even in her final days, Kay cared deeply for others, sharing moments with her longtime companion, Glen Yelland, and welcoming visits from animals at Hospice.
Born in Alberta, Kay grew up near Victoria before moving to Prince George in 1970. She was a longtime employee at SpeeDee Printers and Lakeland Mills, where many remember her as the friendly voice of reception and a cherished friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prince George Rotary Hospice House, whose compassionate staff provided exceptional care in her final days.
Please join us as we celebrate Kay at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club on Monday, May 18th at 1:00. Light refreshments will be served.
