

Marlene passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 15, 2024 at Simon Fraser Lodge, Prince George, B.C. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 7, 1934 the daughter of Fred and Mary Keller.
Marlene attended high school in North Kildonan, Winnipeg where she met her future husband Alvin Lee Johnson. They were married in Calgary, Alberta on October 15, 1955. They celebrated 54 years of marriage.
In her younger years Marlene was a professional figure skater and she was offered a position in the Ice Capades but was unable to accept the position. She could play the piano by ear and was very musical playing the ukulele with her club in her later years. She was also a very active member of the Red Hat Society in Prince George and adored her red and purple clothes and all the bling that goes with being a member. Marlene also loved to sew and made many costumes and clothes.
She was also a very active member of Timbers Community Church since 2008 and attended a weekly bible study. She was very proud of when she read the bible in a year.
She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Mary Keller, her husband Alvin Lee Johnson, her sister Dolores Elgert, and her grandson Jesse Luke Bennett.
Leaving to mourn are her children Glenda (Ian) Bennett, Gordon (Donna) Johnson, grandchildren Rian (Brendan) Bennett, Siyanna (Jesse) Bennett, Joshua (Lisa) Bennett, Elisha (Ben) Atkins, Chantal Johnson and Jamie Dyck, great-grandchildren Cameron, Vyu, Brendan, Isaac, Jacob, Daniel and Emelia, Silas, Eli and Sameach, step-grandchildren Jessica and Tristen, brother Donald Keller, and many other nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakewood Alliance Church 4001 – 5th Avenue, Prince George on Saturday, October 26 at 1:00 pm. Those who wish to remember Marlene in a special way please make your gifts in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC or Timbers Community Church Prince George.
