Anyone who ever met Shane understands the void he leaves behind.Shane was predeceased by his father Ron in 2013. Shane was born in Prince George and spent most of his life there. In his earlier years he worked as a forest firefighter on a unit crew eventually becoming a supervisor for the Firehawk unit crew Shane spent 20 years doing this and made great friends and travelled throughout the province as a result.
Always Fair, always willing, always principled. Life changes, and for the better. In 2013 Shane moved to Burns Lake to start a new life with Lori. He became a logging truck driver and felt that his dreams had come together. Shane and Lori bought some property overlooking the lake. Shane worked hard to develop the house and land and was so proud of the dream he was creating. He loved having others over to entertain and show off all his accomplishments. Shane was a person of determination and always had a helping hand to get things done. He was a hard worker who seldom refused the challenge. Shane loved the outdoors and was always eager to hunt or fish or just be outside sitting by a fire. Shane lived his life as he wanted. His impact is beyond a ripple. Shane loved the Lakes District and the people he met.
He was doing a job he loved, in a place he called home, with someone he truly loved. Words fail for this loss but we will choose to step forward, for him, and to appreciate everything he was.
Assman's funeral services will arrange a private family event with a celebration of life event planned for a later date.
With proudness and love. Enjoy the hunt, Shane. We will see you again.
