I feel a warmth around me 
Like your presence is so near,
I miss you every day
Now that you are not here.
It's been a year 
365 days to be exact. 
I still wouldn't be home yet this day a year ago. I wouldn't be home until 1 AM. 
I was there and I always will be there.
I remember you and your jokes and your laugh like spring. 
You were full of life and joy and such a happiness I wondered how you got it.
I remember how you would hug me and tell me to watch over nan because you were worried. 
We all were. 
But she's okay now granny. No more cancer. I will watch over her for all of my time here. 
You were my gramma. 
Still are.
The one who was there for everyone who needed it
And never put up with the stuff some people would put out. You would smarten them up.
I may not be able to write poetry like my mom, or as talkative and know the right things to say like nan,
But I am good with music, and I will sing the words I can not speak. 
I wanted to call you last week when I was told I was in the university program and finally finishing my grade 8 voice and piano, but
I remembered ..
Heaven isn't a phone call away..
I love you so much
Miss you more with each passing day. 
If prayers and tears could build a stairway to heaven, and it had visiting hours, 
I would be there. 
I love you granny.

A beautiful garden now stands alone,
missing the one who nurtured it
But now she is gone,
Her flowers still bloom, and the sun it still shines,
But the rain is like tear drops, for the ones left behind,
The weeds lay waiting to take the gardens beauty away,
But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay,
she loved every flower even some that were weeds,
So much love she would plant with each little seed,
But just like her flowers she was part of Gods plan,
So when it was her time he reached down his hand,
He look through the Garden searching for the best,
That's when he found Violet, it was her time to rest,
It was hard for those who loved her, to just let her go,
But God had a spot in his garden, that needed a gentle soul...



We took your flowers home & made you a new Garden...Moms doing pretty good at taking care of them...although no one has a green thumb quite like you...

I'm doing my best at keeping my promise & I'm taking care of mom...she misses you a lot & she's not the same without you...I can't fix her heart Gramma...I tried..but it's so broken since you left us...

I miss you so much...I wld give anything to have one more cup of tea....one last hug....
You've been there through everything in my life & I'm sad you're not here to share with me my engagement...my wedding...he's an amazing man...I know you'd love him...

Dearest Mom.
Almost a year has gone by since you left. Most of it in a fog of turmoiled thoughts. re evaluating life. the why ? The how ? mostly the purpose of our paths. The silly things we find to deem important. ( that don't mean squat ) at the end of our lives. But at the time it seemed right. I know from experiance I'm not doing everything to your likeing now that your gone. I also know from my life with you, You would know & understand I am doing my best. And I can admitt today. That doing my best has never seemed more important than now. these days, weeks, months that I do the papers & business that represented your life here with us. I of course am not finished yet, as I tend to procrastinate when it comes to finalizing the legalities left to me to do. As if I go slow your closer to me still. that I may still be helping in some small way that represents my love for you.I know I'm being silly, but it gets me through the days. The earth is just papers when the people you love are gone. So let it be known to generations to come that ( love literally does make the world go round ) during the short time we spend here. when the life we loved no longer has form, All that is left is papers. No material thing could measure the loss of the love that had form. I love & miss you Mom. Thank you for the time we shared together & that I may one day be with you again. Till then I will take care of the papers & cherrish the memories of our time.<3.

I'm okay mom, I am cancer free today, You can stop worrying now and rest. I love and miss you so much. Not more than a few moments of time passes by that your not in my thoughts as has always been. But the tears flow more freely now as the months pass. Our lives were so entwined I now find it hard to make a decision without discussing it with you. ( and all those years ) I thought I was being independant. I now see that was not so much the case. May God be holding you in his care till we are together again. loving you always and forever.Sissy..xo xo.

Today is one month Mom,since you left me. I'm taking care of all the things the way I know you would want me too. Today I shared my day with  Charity & Makayla. We laughed together of good times with you and we cried together as we shared our grief as we miss you so. I wish I could know that your okay now that all is said and done. I still need you here with me, even though I'm the oldest one. I'll carry on as we agreed I would, but know this now. No harder thing I've ever done, than go on without you. More lonliness than ever I could have imagined. The emptyness I feel within,I miss you so, I know you know. But I just had to say. I want to scream.  I know I shant. But if theres a God he'll hear my pain, And let you know I'll be fine. Just trying so to let you go. I don't know how. I only ever knew how to keep you. Now only in my heart, If theres a lord he best be kind, take care of you the best he can. Till I find my way to you again. I love you Mom. <3.  Sissy xo xo .

I'm so sorry for your loss girls. She was a wonderful lady. There are no words that can help heal the loss of a mother Sherry. People tell me all the time that I'm not alone and she's always with me. I'd like to think that's true xoxo 
I'm so glad I got a chance to spend time w/her last summer. she still had the same silly sense of humor and always had nick names.  I was Niffer,I should have asked for a better nick name! Rest in peace, cheers Grams xoxo

It was a privilege to be able to be with all of you, in remembering your mom (my dear Aunty Vi).  Our thoughts & prayers will be with you always, especially in the days ahead. Aunty Vi was a very special lady & I will miss her very much.  All my love to all of you.

I literally said to myself "the bus driver lady" when I saw her picture...guess I wasn't the only one who remembered her that way!  Feisty she was, but awesome nonetheless.

I was Shocked and very saddened to hear of Vi's passing... I will remember her always, she would always make me smile and she called me her little newfie friend...rip in peace Vi, I will miss you...:(  till we meet again may you rip...

It is so sad when a person is taken unexpectedly. There was no goodbyes, I love you and will miss you. We live with the thoughts in our hearts that they said goodbye to us and now that person is at peace and in a peaceful place where there is no longer any pain. But we still hurt and miss our loved one. The pain is always there of missing them but you get use to the fact that your loved one is gone. I am very sorry for your loss Sherry and Sonny. I know that terrible feeling..But over time the hurt become very fond memories and you will smile at the things you remember. Rest In Peace.. Violet.. Vi you will be missed! You were a very strong lady...with a family who loved you dearly may you rest in peace.

If I ever write a book about life around Buena Vista Farm, Violet will probably require more than one chapter.  I remember her big Cadillac rivaling the combines for footprint in the stubble of grain fields at harvest, a car almost as big as her personality.

I only met her one time, but enjoyed talking with her! I know you will miss her Sherry, but she is with the One who loves her so much that He gave His life for her!

Vi was a wonderful friend and we shared a mutual love of the country and country life. Every time I watered the greenhouse I would check on "Violet's cukes" to see if they were ready to take over to her. Then I would pack up some lettuce, Swiss chard, carrots and beets and run them over on my way to town. I will always remember her saying that her friends would Love! them...that's the sort of sharing person Violet was. Then she would exclaim " Oh my, cucumber sandwiches - I can't wait!"... It's been hard to keep up with the garden these days but you will always guide my hoe and watering can Vi. Rest in peace until we can meet over tea in that wonderful garden in Heaven.

I LOVE YOU. I wil miss you for the rest of my life. J.

It's been a rough couple of days. I lost my great grandmother. 
She was a role model. Even though yes she was feisty, I loved her so much. 
I couldn't of asked for a better great grandmother. You left us only yesterday, but I still pray
That you would come home at the end of the day. I miss your laugh, your goofy grin and 
The way you asked my nan matter of factly " sherry, the girl on tv has junk  in her trunk. Don't you know what that means?" 
You could make anyone smile. I wish I could of heard your voice one last time, but I know that this won't ever happen.  You are a wonderful,spontaneous, crafty,intelligent woman and I will have you in my heart forever and always until we meet again. The day we do, our embrace will be a welcome, and not a goodbye. I remember your favourite quote was "old gardeners never die, they just loose their bloomers" I didn't really understand it much until recently. 
I love you with all my heart, and I miss you.. 
If tears could build a stairway, and memories build a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven, and bring you home again..

This lady drove me to and from school everyday in the 1970's.  She must have logged a million miles on the road.  She might have been a little rough around the edges but she had a heart of gold.  Enjoy the big bus ride in the sky and rest easy.
