

Danny R. Bowman, 71, of Napa Lane, Bluefield died Thursday evening, June 14, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born July 19, 1946 in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Carl Washington Bowman and Grace Edna Powers Bowman. Dan was a graduate of Stoco High School and the West Virginia State Police Academy at Institute in 1969. Dan served with the WV State Police from 1969 until his retirement in 1989, having worked his whole career in Mercer and Monroe Counties. Dan was the owner and operator of Bowman’s Custom Cabinets. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, collecting guns & knives and most of all, he was an avid collector of fine cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Bowman. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Nancy Jane Hall Bowman; Three children, Jeffrey Ray Bowman, Beth Ann and Steve Barrett, Laura Rene and Stephen Hammack; Step-son David Gunter; Six grandchildren, Austin, Dalton, Matthew, Michael, Grace and Maxx. Five siblings, Jerry and Rose Bowman, Jim Bowman, Butch and Pat Bowman, Rick and Rachel Bowman and Debi Bowman and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 18, 2018 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. His fellow State Troopers with whom he served with during his career will serve as pallbearers. The Bowman family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
