

Jimmy Larry Eaves, 66, of North Tazewell, VA, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. Jimmy is predeceased by his parents, John and Pauline Eaves, Brothers, John McArther Eaves and Douglas Eaves, Grandson, Alphonso Jimmy Eaves.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Vera Eaves of North Tazewell, VA, Daughter, Donna Dee Eaves of Atlanta, GA, Two Granddaughters, Chiniquia “Peaches” Eaves, Myesha “Red” Eaves and five great grandchildren. Sisters Geraldine Wilcoxson, husband, Donald of Pearisburg, VA; Gertrude Meadows of Chesterfield, VA, Sonia Eaves of Radford, VA, Pauline Brooks and husband, Walter of Pulaski, VA, and Brother Charles Eaves of Pembroke, VA; Host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Jimmy enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1968 and served 26 years in the West Virginia National Guard retiring as E-5 Sergeant. As well as being a servant to his country, He was employed by Norfolk Southern as a Maintenance of Way Supervisor ending his service record with 34 years. Jimmy served as Deacon Chairman for the First Baptist Church in Tazewell, VA up until his health issues prevented him. Jimmy enjoyed cooking and place 2nd in the national on a chili cook off but more so, Jimmy loved his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be conducted 2:00PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton, WV with the Apostle Donnie Hairston and Pastor Andre Wallace Officiating. Entombment to follow at Restlawn Cemetery, New Hope Road, Bluefield, WV. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 1:00PM until time of the service, Tuesday at the funeral home.
