Ronald Lee Derry, 75, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 surrounded by his family and friends.
Ronald served his country in the US Army from 1959-1965. He worked for Ammar’s for 25 years as a truck driver and later worked at Glenwood Park Retirement Village from where he retired in 2006.
He was born April 11, 1943 in Cheboygan, Michigan; he was the son of the late Mina Evelyn Derry and Russell Leo Derry. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Patty Derry; daughters, Theresa Hamilton and husband, Jamie of Bluefield, Lora Robertson and husband, Bo of Princeton, Melissa Paige of Ohio, Robin Hale of Bluefield, Deborah Farmer of Princeton, and Brandy Pokorney and husband, Chris of Bluefield; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. His beloved pet, Daffney; and a very special nurse and friend, Delta Farley.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Ronald Lee Derry will be held 1:00PM Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Scott officiating. Following the services Ron will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Timothy Burkhart, Jacob Farmer, Dale Holdren, Sammy White, Chris Pokorney, and Andy Robertson will be serving as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Saturday at the funeral home.
