Ed was born on March 26, 1934 in Indio, Calif. to Samuel and Mable Belzora (Yandell) Flower.
He attended Dayville High School and graduated with a GED while in the United States Army. He completed the equivalent of one year of college.
He married Connie A. Hill in Couer d’Alene, Idaho on June 11, 1955.
Ed worked for Department of Defense for 30-plus years, with his last years spent working for the Federal Aviation Administration as a radar/computer technician in Anchorage, Alaska where he retired in 1989.
While serving in the Army, he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, and was stationed in Korea and stateside during the 1950s and early 1960s.
Ed was an avid reader and traveler, having traveled to Japan and Europe, as well as much of the United States. He enjoyed working on cars and renovating old houses.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Connie, of Prineville; son, Keith Flower of San Francisco, Calif.; daughter, Dianne (Jack) Carlisle of Antelope, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Janna, Jamie and Eric Carlisle.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Donnie Flower, and his sister, Joy Ovey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in memory of his nephew and niece.
