
June was the daughter of Gladys J. Imlah Baker and Ralph Baker; born in Portland Oregon Feb. 13, 1920. Right after; her parents divorced. Mother married again to Hugh Hurt who was killed in a logging truck accident a few months before June’s half-brother Bill was born. Mother married again to Ferdinand Lampert. They had 5 girls.
Her mother and step father had a large farm where until the age of 18; June’s life was filled with planting, harvesting crops and helping raise her 5 little half-sisters. June left home at 18, and spent the next couple years doing odd jobs in order to survive.
June was raised on Cabbage Hill in Troutdale, Oregon. She attended Corbett grade School, her first years of High school was a Holy Child of Jesus on Sandy Blvd., was then transferred to Mt. Angel and graduated from St. Mary’s of the Valley.
In 1940 June married Jim Allen and the lived in Tillamook for the next 9 years during which time 3 children; E. Jarves, Willow John and Bonnie June were born. It ended in divorce and June left Oregon and lived in Long Beach, California, where she worked in restaurants and even managed. In 1954 she married Bill Finlay and a son ‘Mark’ was born in 1955 in San Diego, California.
Another divorce and she worked in S. Bay General Hospital and later transferred to Chula Vista Hospital as a cook. In later years she worked in Sonoma State Hospital as a dietician, PBX operator, secretary and receptionist for 8 years.
Fred Riehl and June were married in January of 1976 and came to Oregon but later divorced. She was given the job of Manager at Fabricland in Portland. In 1982 she moved to Prineville and managed the Dunaway Mobile Park for a couple of years. She lived there until her death.
She retired in 1985; her hobbies include dancing, (instructor) Alter Society at St. Joseph’s.
June had many friends and was a kind and giving person. She is survived by her daughter ; Bonnie June Crum of Phoenix, Arizona. Two sons; Jim and Bill who reside in Albany Oregon and her youngest son; Mark is living in Redmond. Also her half-sister; Lorraine Walton, Collsen Krebs California, Carroll Gerding; Philomath, Oregon and Madonna Thaures of Gresham, her half- brother Bill of Dallas, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. June’s aunt Agnes LeRoy was a victim in the Ruth Judd murder case in 1936. She was preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Gladys Baker, son Jim, and sister Barbara.
Raised a staunch church-goer she tried to raise her children as such; she was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. There will be a Mass in memory at a later date and her ashes will be strewn over the Three Sisters Territory.
