Alan Thomas Taylor Sr.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles F. Thomas and Pauline A. Thomas.

Alan was a man of Christ always willing to help those who were in need despite the challenges he was facing in his own life. He faced his challenges as life learning experiences and believed that you are never too old to stop learning. He received his associate’s degree in human services from CCRI at the tender age of 69. His favorite saying is that “God is my teacher and life is my classroom”.

He was the father of Torrence Waithe, Alan Taylor Jr., and the late Felicia Taylor; brother of Charles Thomas, Gregory Thomas, Annette Taylor, and the late Albert Taylor; and grandfather of Tarriana Fermi, Jeremy Taylor, and twins, Aleita and Alicia Cook.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass on Saturday December 14th 10am at St. James Baptist Church, 340 South Main St, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence. There will be a remembrance for friends and family following his burial 248 Main St. Pawtucket RI (Ariel Cruz lounge).

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Providence VA Medical Center Homeless Veteran’s support Clinic.
