Albert A. Sr. “Chi Chi” Cortellesso, 78, passed away May 18, 2016. Son of the late Angelo and Vincenza (Angelone) Cortellesso; father of Sharon Altieri, Brenda Zeigler, Albert Jr., Jason A. Cortellesso and Nicholas DeMarco; grandfather of 10; great-grandfather of 7; former husband of Ann M. (Rossi) Cortellesso; brother of Louis Cortellesso, Hilda Pirolli, Edith DeMello and the late Pasco Cortellesso, Armando Cortellesso, Celia Arena, Angelina Feroli and Bertha Cunningham.
Chi Chi had been the former owner and operator of Chi Chi’s Men’s Clothing, Gold Unlimited and Chi Chi’s Italian Deli.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, 8:00-9:30 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
