Andrew W. Remington

Warwick: Remington, Andrew W., 76, of Cedar Pond Dr., died Thursday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anita M. (Lamoureux) Remington.Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Eugene A.C. and Anna F. (Rushe) Remington, Sr.He is survived by his three sons, Stephen P. Remington of Warwick, John J. Remington of East Providence and Paul D. Remington of Madison, CT., two brothers, Eugene A. C. Remington, Jr. of Narragansett and Florida and James K. Remington of Providence, a sister, Mary E. Little of Providence, four grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He was the brother of the late Francis E. Remington.Prior to his retirement in 2006, Mr. Remington was Program/Systems Analyst for Victoria & Company. He was past President of the Data Processing Management Association of RI and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Remington was an avid sports fan (Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and the PC Friars). The family would like to thank the wonderful medical staff of RI Hospital (Nursing station 8B) for the special loving care they provided Andy (Santa Claus) during the last few weeks and months of his life. A very special and loving thanks to Dr. Sambandam for the last 30 years of care and friendship he provided to the family. And lastly, to Dr. Arthur Bert for watching over my father the last 15 years to see that he was provided the best medical staff and treatment; we have truly appreciated your help.His funeral will be held on Monday from the Russell J. Boyle&Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am in St. Catherine Church, 3252 Post Rd., Warwick. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
