Ann G. Bazar

Born Ann G. Goldsmith, to the late Howard I. and Louise (Allen); Ann answered to many names over the years. To Hope High School’s Class of ‘63 she was “Red” though she just as proudly answered to friend, wife, Mom, Annie and Miss Fire Prevention (1970). Professionally, Ann spent 33 at Imperial Pearl, a division of the Bazar group, where colleagues and customers alike referred to her as “the best of the best,” a reputation she upheld until her retirement in 2016. A devoted Providence Journal reader and avid sports fan she never skipped the newspapers sports section. The pro-athlete gossip columns, however, fueled her uncanny ability to predict game-day outcomes. (Pete Rose who?).

Ann’s red hair made her blue eyes pop, but it was her love of dogs, music, friends and family that made them sparkle.

The legendary stories of her and her late husband of 45 years Joseph S. Bazar antics will be passed down by her children, Todd Bazar, his wife Barbara of Rumford and Kerri Brennan and her husband Michael of Newport Richey, FL; as well as her brother, Brian Goldsmith of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren, Erin Gavin, Dayna Iocco, her husband Rob, and Cecilia DeRosa; one great-grandson, Vincent Joseph Iocco; her in-laws Peter, Charlotte, David and Sue Bazar, and Karen and Alan Bergel; and several nieces and nephews. Ann is now reunited with her beloved daughter Dayna Bazar and her brothers Alan and Steven Goldsmith who left this life before her.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather to honor her life on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence.
