

PROVIDENCE - BROWN, Annie M., 77, of Washington Street, passed away Sunday at the Roger Williams Medical Center. Born in Burke Co., GA, a daughter of the late George G. and Annie R. (Moore) Brown, she had lived in Providence for most of her life. Ms. Brown had been a teacher's assistant for the Providence School Department for many years until she retired in 2003. She was devoted to her family, and was a dedicated caregiver to many children and extended family members. She is survived by her children David B. Brown, Karl D. Brown, Lorraine M. Brown, and Darlene M. Brown all in Providence and Vanessa M. Brown of Washington, DC; a brother Samuel Brown of Sacramento, CA; two sisters Lillian Pugh and Gladys Brown both of Augusta, GA; her grandsons Tywon, Jervon, and Jarred Brown; her great grandsons Dymell and Xavier, and her "special" daughter, Dhana Whiting. She was the sister of the late Luther, Grady Jr., Carl, Wilmer, Roosevelt, Andrew, and Helen Brown, Bertha Grant, Savannah Williams, and Dorothy Antley. Her funeral will be Friday at 9:45am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Service at 11am in the Mt. Hope Community Baptist Church, 734 Hope Street, Providence. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-8pm.
