Annina Capaldi

Born in Rocchetta Al Volturno, Italy, a daughter of the late Domenico and Filomena (Pontarelli) Capaldi, Annina came to the United States in 1967 where she has since resided in North Providence for the past 13 years.

Annina had been a jewelry worker for Royal of America for many years before retiring in 1985. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and baking chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. Besides her devotion to her grandchildren, she was also spiritually devoted to St. Anthony of Padua.

She was the mother of Mario Capaldi and his wife Maria, Livia Del Signore and her husband Vincenzo, the late Elena Capaldi and her husband Venizio; grandmother of Dr. Anthony Del Signore, Gianni Del Signore and his wife Sara, Marco Capaldi and his fiancée Jessica, Drs. Franco Capaldi and his wife Irene, Drs. Laura Della Torre and her husband Thomas; great-grandmother of Emma, Annina and Elena Capaldi; sister of Rita Iaconelli and the late Salvatore Capaldi, Vincent Mancini and Antonietta Neri.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 5-8 p.m. with a funeral on Friday at 8:15 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:15 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, with burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anthonian Association of the Friends of St. Anthony of Padua, 101 Anthony Drive, Mount St. Francis, IN 47146-9999.
