

EAST GREENWICHAnthony I. Rafanelli, Esq., 82, of Hillside Court and Treasure Island, Florida passed away on March 25, 2010 in St. Petersburg, Florida surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Carol Ann (Ryan) Rafanelli with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in North Providence, he was the son of the late Ignazio and Damiana (Papparelli) Rafanelli. He was a 1945 graduate of North Providence High School. While attending Brown University, Anthony was drafted into the Army and served in World War II. After returning from the War, he received undergraduate degrees from the University of Rhode Island and Bryant College. In 1955, he obtained his law degree from Boston University Law School. He spent 40 years of his professional career with Allstate Insurance Company and Metropolitan Property & Casualty Co. where he was a Claims Director. He later went into private practice with Strouse & Noon of Concord, MA and the Law Offices of Rafanelli & Rafanelli of East Greenwich where he practiced with his son. He was the caring family man and father of Kerry I. Rafanelli, Esq. of Narragansett, R.I., Barry A. Rafanelli and his wife, Carol A. Rafanelli, of Warwick, R.I., Toni L. (Rafanelli) Kittredge, Esq. and her husband, Joseph P. Kittredge, Esq. of Acton, MA, Bryan F. Rafanelli and his partner, Mark Walsh, Esq. of Boston, MA and Beth-Anne Rafanelli of North Kingstown, R.I. He was the devoted grandfather to Barry and Ryan Rafanelli and Abby, Jillian, and Austin Kittredge and granddog, Riley Rafanelli. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Sister Mary Francis Ryan, RSM of Warwick, R.I. and was the brother of the late Lucrezia Pera and Jovena Lanni. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, 72 Church Street, Cranston.
