Arakel "Corky" Dolbashian

Arakel "Corky" Dolbashian, 88, of Douglas Ave, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the loving husband of the late Anna (Sarkisian) Dolbashian. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Krikor and Zarman ( Tuntigan) Dolbashian.Mr. Dolbashian was the proprietor of George's Market on Douglas Avenue, Providence, which served the Armenian and Smith Hill community for many years. Before retirement, he was employed by the State of Rhode Island, Board of Elections, for many years. An avid sports fan he loved amateur boxing, and was a greyhound racing fan. He leaves three sons, George R. Dolbashian, Paul Dolbashian and his wife Lisa, and Anthony Dolbashian, two daughters, Alice. Z. Anderson and Susan Tracy and her husband Leo, and eight loving grandchildren, Ian and Evan Anderson, Erica Ferreira, Jessica and Linanne Tracy, and Anthony, Michelle and Kerrie Dolbashian. He was the brother of the late Paul Dolbashian and Elizabeth Kaprielian. The funeral service will be held Saturday morning, at 11:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909 in his memory will be appreciated.
