He was the beloved husband of Anna (Santilli) Volpe for 65 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Ermelindo and Dorotea (Barricelli) Volpe. He is survived by his sons, Stephen Volpe and his wife Joanne, and Gary Volpe and his wife Mary Ann; his grandsons, Matthew Volpe and his wife Nicole, and Adam and Bryan Volpe; his great-grandson Matthew Volpe, Jr.; and his sister Regetta L’Heureux. He was the brother of the late Anthony, Allie, John, Vincent, Mildred, Elsie, Mary, Louise and Valia.
Mr. Volpe served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was the Deacon Emeritus at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, 9-10:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a service at 11 a.m. in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 529 Charles Street, Providence. Graveside burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
