

Arnold B. Brown, age 92, of Providence and formerly of Florida and Connecticut, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Sue (van der Byl) Brown, with whom he shared forty years of marriage. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Louis Brown and Rose (Sokoloff) Brown.
Mr. Brown was a police officer in the Town of Hamden, Connecticut for twenty years before retiring. A car buff, Arnold enjoyed all things paranormal, watching martial arts and horror movies, fishing, collecting guns and playing 7 card stud poker. Arnold was a great storyteller and funny guy.
He is survived by two daughters, Arleen Kennedy and her husband John “Ted” of Plymouth, Massachusetts and Diane Brown of Florida; one sister, Linda Daigle of Milford, Connecticut; five grandchildren, Craig Kennedy and his wife Alison, Jason Kennedy, Christopher Amarante and his wife Brandi, Samantha Barmak and her husband Josh and Matthew Amarante and his wife Cassidy; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Hannah, Peyton, Rylan and Maisie and his cousin, Shirley Frumento.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel, 458 Hope Street, Providence. Entombment will take place in Florida.
