Arthur Edward Anderson, Sr

NORTH PROVIDENCE - ANDERSON, Arthur E. Sr., 69, of Rosemont Terrace, died Monday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Carolyn J. (Sullivan) Anderson. They had been married for 45 years. Born in Providence, son of the late Carl A. and Ann L. (Brophy) Anderson, he had lived in Providence for over 30 years before moving to North Providence 8 years ago. Mr. Anderson had been a Quality Control Inspector for Davol Inc. for 28 years before he retired in 1997. He had also been a member of the RI Army National Guard for 8 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, as well as golfing and camping at the Ginny-B Campground in Foster. Besides his wife, he leaves his children Arthur E. Anderson, Jr. (NPFD) of North Providence, Steven P. Anderson of Woodstock, CT, Dennis J. Anderson and Rhonda M. Anderson both in Johnston, and Patricia L. Gough of West Warwick; two brothers Roland F. Anderson of Warwick and Rev. Bertil J. Anderson, Pastor of St. Rita Church and Chaplain of the Providence Fire Dept. also of Warwick; nine grandchildren, Derek A. Anderson (Smithfield FD), Darrin J., Sean B.J., Evan P., Shannon M., D.J., and Lucas P. Anderson and twins Brittany L. and Briana F. Gough. His funeral will be Friday at 8:45am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Rita Church, 722 Oakland Beach Ave., Warwick. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Care of R.I., 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860 in his memory will be appreciated.
