Arthur J. DePalma

North Providence: DePalma, Arthur J., 79, of Lojai Blvd, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2013. He was the husband of the late Arlene J. (Rossi) DePalma.An adventurous spirit, he was also the most loving,kind and generous father of Lauren Counts and her husband Bill, Lynne DePalma and Michael Marchionte, Sr., and Paul DePalma and his wife Lydia. He also leaves his loving grandchildren:Erin and William Counts, Julia, Arianna, and Victor DePalma and nieces and nephews. He was born in Providence, the son of Domenico and Josephine ( St. Angelo) DePalma. Thomas DePalma, Robert DePalma, Terri Thacker and Anne Martin predeceased him.Arthur was a member of the US Air Force and veteran of the Korean War. He was later employed at Quonset Point and AMSA 68 in Lincoln, RI from which he retired. He alsoretired from the US Army Reserves after 20 years of service. He was extremely proud of the time he served for his country.His funeral will be held on Friday, June 28,2013 at 9:00 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am in the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul,Cathedral Square, Providence. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston, Visiting Hours, Thursday, 4-7 pm.In lieu of flowers, donations to Meals on Wheels, 70 Bath St., Providence, RI 02908 in his memory would be appreciated.
