He was the husband of the late Florence M. (Smigliani) Evans. Born in Boston, MA, he was a son of the late Arthur E. Evans, Sr. and Mary (Rolfe) Evans. He was the beloved father of Victoria A. Palmisano and Lisa Saunders and her husband Chris; loving grandfather of Niccolo, Naomi and Mia Palmisano. He was the brother of the late William, Robert, Mary and Jean Evans.
Arthur proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of a canteen business for many years and worked at the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement.
He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He loved to sing and work in his yard, always striving for the perfect lawn. Known to be a “foodie”, he especially loved lemon squares.
A service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 10:30 am in the RI Veterans Cemetery Chapel, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Family and friends are invited to gather near the administration building for 10:15 am.
