

FITZPATRICK, Arthur E. 67, of North Providence, died Saturday, October 3, after a brief illness. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward J., Jr. and Zita M. (Cawthorne) Fitzpatrick. He was a loving, devoted and generous son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary G. (Hodge) Fitzpatrick. Besides his wife, he leaves four sons: Edward J. Fitzpatrick of North Providence; Arthur W. Fitzpatrick of Lincoln, RI; Scott J. Fitzpatrick and Tara of South Kent, Connecticut; and Sean M. Fitzpatrick of Greenfield, Massachusetts; and a daughter, Kelly L. Fitzpatrick, of North Providence. Arthur is also survived by his sister, Helen M. Maguire and Bryan of South Kingstown, his brothers Edward J. Fitzpatrick III and Susan of North Providence, and Michael T. Fitzpatrick and Joyce of Providence. He was predeceased by his brother Paul D. Fitzpatrick.He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Alexia, Giana, Jack, Hannah, Haley, Hope, Arthur, Aislynn, Jillian, Kaycee, and Ryan; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.Arthur honorably served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War and served in Security Operations at the San Diego Naval Base. He was proudly selected on several occasions to serve in the Naval Color Guard at San Diego Padres' games. He was a graduate of St. Patrick grammar school, North Providence High School, and received an Associates's Degree at The Community College of Rhode Island. He was employed at Sears Roebuck & Co in Providence, Roger Williams Grocery in Cranston and Old Dominion Freight Lines in Cumberland. He was a Woodlawn Little League coach for many years and an avid sports fan, especially dedicated to Notre Dame, the Red Sox and the New England Patriots.He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a long time communicant of St. Augustine Church in Providence. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, RI. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 8:30 am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence.
