North Providence Arthur P. Matile, 78, of North Providence, died peacefully Tuesday morning, September 20, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Paula M. (Waldron) Matile for the past forty-six years.Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Arthur P. and Esther (King) Matile, Sr.Arthur served his country proudly in the United States Army while stationed in Germany.He was the proprietor of Lad & Lassie Shoe Store, on Hope Street, Providence, for many years before retiring.In addition to his wife Paula, he leaves two sons, Arthur J. Matile and his wife Lori Reinhardt, and David M. Matile; a daughter, Michelle L. Matile and her husband Allen Gagliastre; a brother, Raymond Matile; and two sisters, Adele Matile and Dorothy Matile. Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited. The funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Boulevard, East Providence, RI 02914 in his memory will be appreciated.
