Arturo Mendez

Arturo Mendez nació el 6 de Diciembre de 1940 en Bolivia, hijo amado de Sora Justiniano (✝) y José Mendez(✝) y hermano de Ester Mendez(✝), Jose Mendez(✝), Sora Mendez(✝), y Mary Mendez(✝). Desde temprana edad fue formado en valores de fé, humildad y servicio, los cuales guiaron cada etapa de su vida. Hombre profundamente católico, Arturo vivió su fé con devoción, oración constante y amor al prójimo.

Residió durante muchos años en Providence, Rhode Island, donde dejó una huella imborrable en su familia y en todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo. Falleció el Viernes 9 de Enero, a la edad de 85 años, en la paz de su hogar, rodeado del amor de todos sus seres queridos.

Deja en este mundo a su devota esposa, Mary, su compañera fiel de vida, con quien compartió un matrimonio lleno de amor, respeto y fé. Juntos formaron una hermosa familia con sus cuatro hijos: Mónica, Jeiner, Fernando y Clarita, quienes, junto a sus amorosos cónyuges, continúan honrando su legado.

Arturo fue un orgulloso abuelo y bisabuelo de doce nietos y once bisnietos, quienes han sido una gran bendición y una fuente constante de alegría en su vida. Su recuerdo vivirá por siempre en los corazones de su familia y amigos. Que el Señor lo reciba en Su gloria y conceda fortaleza y consuelo a todos los que lloran su partida.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo en la Funeraria Pontarelli-Marino, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence RI, 02904, el día Martes, 13 de Enero, de 5:00 pm a 8:00 pm.

El día Miércoles, 14 de Enero, los invitamos a que nos acompañen en la Santa Misa de cuerpo presente a las 10:00 am en la iglesia Blessed Sacrament, 179 Academy Avenue, Providence RI, 02908

Terminada la ceremonia, saldremos en su último recorrido hacia el cementerio St. Ann, donde sus restos descansaran eternamente.

With deep sorrow and Christian resignation, the family announces the passing of Arturo Mendez, a man of unshakable faith, a loving husband, an exemplary father, and the pillar of his family.

Arturo Mendez was born on December 6, 1940, in Bolivia, the beloved son of Sora Justiniano (✝) and José Mendez (✝), and brother of Ester Mendez (✝), José Mendez (✝), Sora Mendez (✝), and Mary Mendez (✝). From an early age, he was formed in the values of faith, humility, and service, which guided every stage of his life. A deeply Catholic man, Arturo lived his faith with devotion, constant prayer, and love for others.

He resided for many years in Providence, Rhode Island, where he left an indelible mark on his family and on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He passed away on Friday, January 9, at the age of 85, peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of all his loved ones.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Mary, his faithful life companion, with whom he shared a marriage full of love, respect, and faith. Together they formed a beautiful family with their four children: Mónica, Jeiner, Fernando, and Clarita, who, along with their loving spouses, continue to honor his legacy.

Arturo was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who were a great blessing and a constant source of joy in his life. His memory will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends. May the Lord receive him into His glory and grant strength and comfort to all who mourn his passing.

Visitation will be held at Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI 02904, on Tuesday, January 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, January 14, we invite you to join us for the Funeral Mass with the body present at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Avenue, Providence, RI 02908.

Following the ceremony, we will proceed in procession to St. Ann Cemetery, where his remains will rest eternally.
