

Avetis Oundjian, 88, of North Providence, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Lousik “Lucy” (Baghtchedjian) Oundjian. They were married for 57 years. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, he was the son of the late Sarkis and Tigranoui (Zavzavadjian) Oundjian. He worked as an auto body technician at North End Auto Body for many years. Avetis was very active and had a profound sense of humor. He was non-judgmental and loved everyone for who they were. Mr. Oundjian was a hard worker and was very handy. He was an expert gardener, loved crafts, sewing quilt blankets, and doing projects around his home. Avetis also loved to travel with his wife and family. He was a good dancer and enjoyed his last dance with Lucy at the Salvatore Mancini Senior Center. Everyone who knew Avetis will miss him and his smile dearly. In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Manouk Oundjian, and his wife, Anahid, Tigranoui Minassian, and her husband, Sarkis, and Sarkis Oundjian; and six loving grandchildren, Christina “Lucy” Oundjian, Natalie Oundjian, Hagop Minassian, and his wife, Megan, Raffi Minassian, and his wife, Ashley, Avetis and Victor Oundjian; His funeral will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 9:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence. Interment will follow in North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue, Providence. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, in the funeral home.
