Born Feb. 24, 1933 in Providence, RI to Joseph and Violet (Teevens) Mellor. She spent many years as a stay at home Mom and housewife before returning to work as a teacher’s aide at Coventry High School and an administrative assistant at Pawtuxet Valley Bus Lines before retiring and moving to Ormond Beach, FL in 1991.
Barbara is survived by her children John (Melissa) of E. Dennis, MA, James (Sherri) of Scottsdale, AZ, Linda of Warwick, RI, Lauren (Dave) Cayouette of Port Orange, FL; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Fiske of Barrington, RI and was the sister of the late Russell Mellor and Marion Woodward.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 4:00 pm in Evangelical Covenant Church of Riverside, 165 Rounds Ave., Riverside R.I. 02915. Donations to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers are welcome. Giftfunds.stjude.org/ORourke
