Bartholomew Joseph Duarte Jr.

Junior was known for his boisterous spirit, his deep passion as a skilled professional hair stylist and barber. He served his community for over sixty years. Some of his many joys and pleasures were dancing, singing, and enjoying music. He also loved playing pool, watching sports, and being family oriented. He shined a generous amount of love for his children, family, and community.

He is survived by his five children: Robert Lee Duarte, Rene Cabral-Elderkin, Ronald Cabral, Nickeya Monteiro, Bartholomew Duarte Jr., his beloved son-in-law Rick Elderkin, and daughter in laws Candy Ramos and Samantha Castaldi. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Francesca Duarte, and his beloved grandchildren: Jessica Cabral, Domonique Cabral, Ronald Gomes, Aaron Gomes, Cristiana Walmsley, Romeo Walmsley, Gary Maddox, Anyla Lee, Aaleyah Lee, Darshelle Ramos, Malayzia Bowe, Malady Bowe, Nadia Bowe, Mikhyel Bowe, Kayliana Marzan, and Jamari Castaldi.

Bartholomew was predeceased by his parents, his four brothers: Antonio Duarte, Manuel Duarte, James Duarte Sr., and John Duarte. He is also predeceased by his son Micheal J. Bowe, and his daughter April Lee.

Visitation from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence will be Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 12:00-2:00 pm followed by his Funeral Service at 2:00 pm.
