

SCOLNICK, BEATRICE “BEA” LOVE (GILBERT) formerly of Lowell MA, died peacefully at home in Warwick RI on November, 22, 2015, at the age of 93 Bea is survived by her devoted children, Susan Quackenbush and her husband Peter also of Warwick, and Mark Scolnick and his wife Irma Cole of Lakeland FL. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Jeffrey Scolnick and his wife Sara, Aaron Scolnick and his wife Lauren, Tara Lynch and her husband Kenny, Pete Quackenbush and his wife Tina (Stephanie), and Andrew Quackenbush and his companion Dana Labitt. Bea adored her 12 great-grandchildren Yael, Allison, Olivia, Isabella, Henry, and Oliver Scolnick, and Madison and Ben Wiggins, Aidan and Kailynn Lynch, Zaan and Sylvia Quackenbush,. Bea is survived by her sister Lila Lebowitz of Lantana FL, brother Arnold and his wife Barbara Gilbert of Queens NY, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Israel and Annie Gilbert, her husband Aaron, her sister Eileen Slavin, and her companion Charles Winkler. Through out the years Bea shared much of her time with her best friend Charlie Winkler. Their escapades of boating, dinning out together and being on each others arm at many Yacht Club, Rotary events and local restaurants was a familiar sight to many. Visits to sit at the beach and look out over the water was one of their favorite past times together. She cherished her times with her extended family. Her family would like to thank her caregiver, Stacey Matteras, for her love, care and devotion to Bea. Her funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, November 24th at 12:00 Noon at the Redwood Chapel in Swan Point Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the Quackenbush Residence Tues & Wed from 2-4 and 7-9 and Fri 1-3 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bea's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Rhode Island or the American Lung Association or to the Charity of your choice.
