GOLDSTEIN, BETTY L. (LaPaix), 88, died on August 19, 2012. She was the wife of Lester H. Goldstein. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Jules and Martha (Strauss) LaPaix, she lived most of her life in New York and Florida before moving to Rhode Island in 2006. Mrs. Goldstein attended Northwestern University and trained at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. She was a model and actress, and continued to be active in community theatre. She was a former member of Hadassah and ORT. She is survived by her children, Elise LaPaix of San Francisco and Lori Polacek and her husband Fred of Providence; and her grandchildren, Marisa, Ariana, Brett and Matthew. A graveside service was held in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Queens, NY.
