

Celia Ann (Furtado) Petit, 77, passed away January 20, 2017. Celia was the wife of the late Francis J. Petit, daughter of the late Mariano and Emily Furtado. Beloved mother of Brian Carney, Kathleen Grimley and Christine Danesi. Grandmother of 6, great-grandmother of 3. Sister of the late Dorothy J. Trunk.
Celia had been a dedicated member of the Episcopal Church for the past 19 years. She actively enjoyed participating on the Vestry, as the President of the ECW, Chairperson of the Fundraising Committee, Sisters of Sophia, Outreach Committee and especially enjoyed the WINGS retreats with her church family at Trinity Episcopal Church, North Scituate, RI.
Celia retired in 2014 from A & H Manufacturing after 17 years of dedicated service. Prior she held management positions at Whiting & Davis for 9 years and India Imports of RI for 12 years.
Celia’s passions included boating, traveling and helping others but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 3-6 p.m., with her funeral on Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a service at 10 a.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church, North Scituate. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church N.S., c/o Celia A.
