Colin S. Hayes

Colin S. Hayes, "Scotty" 53 of Ruxton Street, Cranston passed away at home unexpectedly on August 13, 2020 . Born in Providence, he was the son of Joanne (Silvestri ) Hayes and the late Colin S. Hayes.

Scotty worked for Amtrak on the railways for over 20 years and was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Federation Way. Scotty was the life of the party and will forever be on our hearts.

He was the beloved older brother to Sharon Tetrault, Shannon Lawson, Kerri Stetson and Coleen O’Brien. Besides his sisters he leaves behind his many, many friends as well as 6 Nephews, 5 Nieces, 7 Great Nephews and 2 Great Nieces as well as his belated nephew Anthony O'Brien.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 20, 2020 in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM followed by a private family service in the funeral home.

Funeral procession will assemble on Friday from the funeral home at 9:00 am and then proceed to Highland Memorial Park Cemetery for a 10:00 AM graveside burial. During both the visitation and funeral, social distancing, masks and occupancy restrictions will be observed. No more than 15 people will be allowed inside at a time and 50 people at outdoor graveside ceremony.

My brother Scotty there are way to many memories to add one specific the biggest one of all would be the way you loved me the way you was always so proud of me the way you loved mommy the way you always thought you was boss the way you loved my kids the way you get mad at me and say beans I’m talking to u . The best was when u called me though and I would answer the phone and say Yo and you say nothing I could say Yo 5 times and still u would sit there till I’d say yea hello Scotty and you always say beans that better don’t say Yo you really sound like a half lmao 😂 of course I’d do that often ..I’m going miss that .. I love you always and forever ... one day my brother we will be dancing together again yelling Partyyyyyyy .....

There would not be enough room here for me to describe the relationship that me and Scotty had since we were kids. We’ve been through so many things together that I hold cherished in my heart. I will miss him dearly. “Duvious” see you someday on the other side!

I will never forget the night we were out on the town and you really liked my camouflage hat. You kept looking at it. So I took it off and I gave it to you.
You couldn't believe it. You were the happiest guy in the world that night...
And years later you would still bring it up and tell me the hat was safe and sound. And you loved it.

Scotty was the best kid in the world I grew up with Scotty we hung out and Silver Lake the gang all of us me Jared tillinghast Robert rin I could go on. All the friends that we we're a close-knit community Scotty was one of the best guys around the funniest the life of the party he could dance like nobody Scotty was the boy he was the man he was my best friend he was my buddy I can't believe when my friend Bobby told me the other day that he had passed I was in shock I miss him already I will be coming to the funeral it is allowed my heart goes out to him and his family he will be sorely missed by everyone Scotty has so many friends the list goes on and on and on he's with one of the boys I love you Scotty rest in peace
