

Daniel E. King Jr., 40, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Dan was a family man, who most enjoyed hanging out with the people he loved. He is survived by his family: Carolyn, Billy, Keeley, Ben and Josh Baxter whom he truly loved and cherished to the end; his many friends at Bridges, Inc. and at Largess Forestry where he enjoyed working with the best group of guys ever. He enjoyed the simple things in life... .a ride in the Largess work truck, a cold Pepsi and pizza, hanging with friends and family, kit kats, a chocolate donut, laying in the pool, jumping on the trampoline, going out to eat, sitting outside on the porch and doing nothing. He was a member of the Jamestown Community for over 20 years, until moving with his family to Exeter. Often, Dan was out and about in his neighborhood walking with Keeley, Ben or/or Josh. In the four years he lived there Dan became a part of that neighborhood and will be truly missed. Dan was also an employee of Sensational Child where he worked with his long- time friend and a member of the Bridges, Inc. Work Crew. While living in Jamestown, Dan worked for many years at the Portuguese American Club, volunteered for The Fort Adams Land Trust and Casey Farm. He was a repeat Medal Winner in the RI Special Olympics for a number of years. Dan was a showcased Artist at the Out of the Box Art Studio and Gallery in Jamestown, where he was a member of the Bridges, Inc. artist collaborative. He enjoyed drawing and creating lists of his favorite things. His work has been displayed in multiple art shows and can be purchased on t-shirts, cards and print at the Gallery. His funeral with visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 10 am followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Interment will follow at Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. A celebration of Dan's life will follow at 4 Evergreen Drive, Exeter, RI for friends and family to gather. In lieu of flowers donations to Dan's friends at Bridges, Inc.- Out of the Box Art Studio, P.O. Box 263, Jamestown, RI 02835, will be greatly appreciated.
