Dennis David O'Keefe

Dennis D. O'Keefe, 63, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Joan M. (Cavanaugh) O’Keefe. They were married for 43 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late David and Gloria (Corvese) O’Keefe.He served his country proudly with the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War.Dennis owned D & J Transportation and worked as a courier for the past 17 years. He also worked as a general manager for various jewelry companies for 25 years, prior to owning his transportation company. Dennis was active with the Boy Scouts of America during his youth. He enjoyed golf, photography, and loved music, especially Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac.Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Dennis R. O’Keefe, and his wife Rose Antonelli-O’Keefe, of West Warwick; a daughter, Jennifer O’Keefe Berube, and her husband, Keith R. Berube, of Warwick; a niece, Joell Lynn Cavanaugh, of Providence, whom they raised; a brother, Patrick O’Keefe, and his wife, Kim, of West Warwick; a sister, Karen Piacente, and her husband, Alfred, of West Greenwich; and his five loving grandchildren, Elizabeth, Liam, Reese, Oliver, and Isla. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 10:00 am, in Saint Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence.
