Dianne Kauffman Bloom

BLOOM (Kauffman), DIANNE, 74, died August 30, 2014. She was the wife of the late Myron Bloom. A longtime resident of Taunton, MA, she was born in Fall River, MA and was a daughter of the late William and Ida Kauffman. Dianne attended Bridgewater State College and Southeastern Massachusetts University and earned her nursing certification from Union Hospital Nursing School. As a registered nurse, she enjoyed a long career at the Taunton State Hospital where she focused on patients seeking mental health treatment. Dianne also served as the supervisor of the Psychiatric Clinic at the Central City Community Center in Fall River, MA, and provided social work functions subsequent to her RN positions. She was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim and was also active with the temple’s sisterhood. Dianne was a member of the Massachusetts & American Nurses Associations. She is survived by her sons, Wayne Bloom and his wife Veronica, and Russell Bloom and his wife Mary; her sister, Gladys Chernick; and her grandchildren, Kevin, Molly, Aidan, Callie, Ellie and Lacey. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd at 2:00 PM in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Taunton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 455 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
