Donald A. " Don " Maltezos

Donald (Don) Allan Maltezos, 64, of Warwick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on September 21, 1949, to the late Elizabeth and Alex Maltezos . Don graduated from La Salle Academy; he joined the Army and served his country honorably in Vietnam. He attended Johnson & Wales University. He married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Jean Gamelin, on January 20, 1968.Don was a dedicated father, visionary, farmer, and outdoorsman. He spent much of his life working in construction as the owner and chief operator of Statewide Concrete. He enjoyed fishing, basketball, bow and arrow, gardening, traveling the country and the world with the purpose of his children's advancement of BMX racing. One of his most cherished accomplishments was creating a masterpiece of his family household he built from the ground up. Don is survived by three children; Dawn Maltezos, David Maltezos, and Alisha Randall; a sister, Elizabeth Thibault, and a brother, John Maltezos. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Alana Maltezos, Alyssa Petrella, and Alexis Randall. The family invites you to celebrate his life at Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd (Rt117) Warwick, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday. Mass of Christian Burial in St Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane Warwick, RI at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with the burial with military honors following at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 S County Trail, Exeter.
