Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Henry, Jr. and Johnina M. (Sutherland) Monroe.
Donald proudly served his country as a soldier in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In civilian life, Donald was employed as a Machine Operator for the Eli Metal Company in Providence.
Donald is survived by a daughter, Mandy M. Monroe of Upton, MA. and a son, Danny J. Monroe of Glocester, RI.
