Dorothy H. (Angell) Savard, 89, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024 surrounded by her loving daughters. She was the wife of the late Eugene Savard. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Cornell) Angell.
Dorothy was the beloved mother of Dorothy Chace and Joan Doddio and her companion David Hopkinson; cherished grandmother of Devon-Jeanne Chace, Albert E. Chace and his fiancée Erin Strik, and Jeffrey Doddio and his wife Ali Smith. She was the sister of the late Joan and Raymond Angell and mother-in-law of the late Albert J. Chace, Jr., and Richard J. Doddio.
Dorothy’s life on this earth revolved around her two daughters and her three treasured grandchildren. Dorothy cherished her home and her religious faith. Dorothy’s passions were cooking, collecting angels, watching Patriots and Tom Brady, listening to Engelbert Humperdinck music, nurturing her cactus house plants and enjoyed visits from Sam, Brady, and Penelope the three family dogs. She had also worked as a crossing guard and a clerk at the municipal courthouse for the City of Providence for many years.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
