PROVIDENCE - GILBERT, Eileen, 80, of East Transit Street, died Monday at Home & Hospice Care Inpatient Center. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Hennessey) Carlin, and had been a lifelong city resident. She is survived by her children Sheila A. DaRosa of Providence, and William J. Gilbert and his wife Diane of Glocester, four grandchildren and one great grandson. She was the sister of the late Margaret Galvin. Her funeral will be Friday at 8:45am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
