

CranstonElizabeth A. Howarth, 54, of Cranston, died suddenly Monday at Rhode Island Hospital after being stricken at home. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Francis J. and Dorothy E. (Donahue) Howarth, she lived in the Smith Hill neighborhood of Providence for many years before moving to Cranston three years ago. Elizabeth was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence, for the past twenty-two years. She was a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island Nursing Program, and earned a Bachelor Degree with a double major in English and Psychology from Rhode Island College. She was a communicant of Saint Mark Church, Cranston, and a former communicant of Saint Patrick Church, Providence. Elizabeth was an associate of the Sisters of Mercy. She leaves a sister, Patricia E. Stimpson; two brothers, Francis M. Howarth and Thomas J. Howarth; her longtime friend, Sr. Marie Geraldyn McGreevy, R.S.M., and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in the Church of Saint Mark, Garden City, Cranston. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8 pm.
