Ellen R. Place

WARWICK Ellen Rose (Sutherland) Place, 87, of Warner Brook Drive, formerly of Providence, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank E. Place, Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Nelson J., and Ethel L. (Hoyle) Place. Ellen was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her three sons, Frank E. Place, Jr., and his wife Lois, of Warwick, Richard A. Place, and his wife Sheila, of Richmond, Dennis G. Place, and his wife Denyse, of Richmond; two daughters, Lillian E. Richards, and her husband, Wayne, of East Providence, and Colleen S. Hutchinson, and her husband, Richard, of Warwick; fourteen grandchildren, Carleen Place, Corene Valletta, Cythnia Place, Richard Place, Jr., Kevin Place, Alex Place, Dennis Place Jr, Jason Place, Tiffany Place, Kristopher Richards, Justin Richards, Wayne Richards Jr., Taylor Hutchinson, and Richard Hutchinson, IV; fourteen great grandchildren, James Rowley, Alexis Valletta, Desiray Moore, Brittany Moore, Shawn Moore, Nathan Place, Kaylie Place, Devon Place, Marina Place, Cheyenne Place, Troy Place, Jackson Correira, Sophie Richards, Wayne Richards III, and a soon to be fifteenth great grandchild. She was also the sister of the late Bernice Higgins Her funeral will be held on Monday, at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt. 117 - Exit 10 off I-95) Warwick, with a funeral service at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
