Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Pike) Slade; wife of the late Dante D’Orsi and William Mimande; mother of Raymond D’Orsi, Mercia “Dee” Potenza, Frances E. Herlihy and Diane D’Orsi-Bliss; grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 9.
Elva had worked for many years as a volunteer at the Miriam Hospital, but found that her greatest pleasure in life was that of caring for her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
