Eugene George Ayotte

Eugene George Ayotte, Jr.(May 23, 1950 - December 5, 2007) Eugene G."Gene" Ayotte, Jr., age 57 of West Shore Road, Warwick passed away on December 5, 2007 at the R. I. Veterans' Home in Bristol, RI. Born in Providence on May 23, 1950, a son of the late Eugene G. and Grace E. (Baker) Ayotte, Gene (also known as "Jody") was a Vietnam-Era Air Force Veteran. He was the brother of Paul G. Ayotte and his wife, Holly, of Charlestown, RI and of Bobbi Lee Chamberlin of Coventry, RI. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, RI on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m.,interment with Military Honors, will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans' Cemetery in Exeter, RI. In addition to having served in the Air Force, Gene worked at General Dynamics in Groton, CT, with the Dept. of Environmental Management, and as a self-employed painter/wallpaperer. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was very artistic and was blessed with a great sense of humor. Everyone who got to know Gene, remarked about what a genuinely nice person he was. The staff at the V. A. Medical Center and at the R. I. Veterans' Home were an integral part of his last weeks, and became almost a second family to him.
