

Burns, Evelyn A. (Lennon), 84, of Rutherglen Avenue, died Sunday at South Bay Manor, South Kingstown. She was the wife of the late William J. Burns, Jr. Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Michael C. and Annie T. (Egan) Lennon, she lived in Providence most of her life. Mrs. Burns was a graduate of the Assumption School, and a 1942 graduate of Saint Xavier Academy. She was a member of the Saint Xavier Academy Alumnae Association and a former member of Saint Matthew Parish Women's Club. She leaves her children, Anne T. Klumbis, and her husband Bernard Klumbis, (Capt., P.P.D. Retired) of Charlestown, William J. Burns, III, and Joseph G. Burns, both of Cranston, and Judy A. Burns, also of Charlestown; three grandchildren, Lynne Pierce, Karen Cook, and Bernard Klumbis Jr., three great-grandsons, Kyle, Corey, and Conner Pierce. Also, her devoted Godson, Edward Markey, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Michael C. Burns. She was a sister of the late James F. Lennon, Mary F. Grover, Ann T. Campbell, Rosella I. Lennon, Ellen H. Curley and Marguerite M. Lennon. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Matthew Church, Elmwood Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4 to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Matthew School Endowment Fund, 15 Frances Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910 in her memory will be appreciated.
