F. Jeremiah McQueeney

East Greenwich: McQueeney, F. Jeremiah "Jerry", 57, of East Greenwich, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. He was the loving husband of Melissa (McGarty) McQueeney.Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Colonel Walter A. and Mary (Hanrahan) McQueeney.Jerry was a retired Detective for the Providence Police Department, serving 20 years. He was a member of the Providence Lodge No.3 FOP, the Providence Police Association; and the Retired Police and Fire Association. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy in 1971 and Roger Williams University. He served in the RI Air National Guard.He was an avid golfer and member of the Laurel Lane Country Club.Besides his wife, he leaves his two daughters, Lindsay M. McQueeney and her fiance, Michael Batalon of Warwick; and Elizabeth M. McQueeney of East Greenwich, two brothers, Robert A. McQueeney, RISP and W. Patrick McQueeney, RISP, both of Narragansett, two sisters, Joan A. Pucino of North Kingstown and Mary C. Kilmartin, of Warwick.His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd. Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be Friday 3-7pm.
